Event: National Exams

National Exams
Nov
11

All week our Class 8 students will be sitting for their Kenya Certificate in Primary Education exams.

This is a difficult, archaic exam with low passing rates nationally – 40% out of public schools and 70% out of private schools. Hamomi’s passing rate has been 80% to date. Keep in mind, this is not the dropout rate. These are the kids who have graduated from their Primary School, paid to take the KCPE, and are hoping against hope to continue on to High School. Nothing should be keeping these students from continuing on to Secondary School.

We will not receive their exam scores until the end of January.

Spend some time getting to know Hamomi’s 8 candidates of 2013 by reading their autobiographies.
