Fanya Further returns to Ocean Beach for its 5th Year!
Fanya 5 is an annual beach Ultimate Frisbee tournament to combine our community’s passion for Ultimate and supporting Hamomi, a sponsored project of 501c3 Greater Tomorrow Foundation. Your tournament entry fee is also a tax-deductible donation!

How to Register:
- Captains must register their teams by emailing the tournament organizers at fanyafurther@gmail.com.
- Individuals/team members, please scroll down to the donation form at the bottom of this page.
- Pay $30 per player by donating – click here. Include your team name or captain name in the comments box. You can also use the Donate Button below for a quick pop up window.
- Each player must fill out this Registration Form. If your team name is not on the form, your Captain has not registered your team yet! He or she needs to do so by contacting the tournament organizers at fanyafarther@gmail.com.
This fun and competitive mixed gender (3:2/2:3 gender ratio) beach Ultimate tournament attracts Ultimate teams from around the region for a great cause. Tournament proceeds support Hamomi, a primary school in Nairobi, Kenya (explore this site to learn more). Bid fees support current scholarship students as they continue their educations at secondary schools throughout Kenya.
- When: March 18-19, 2017
- Where: Ocean Beach, San Francisco, near Balboa street
- Format: 5 v. 5 mixed beach (BULA rules-3:2 or 2:3 gender ratio)
- Cost: $30 per player

Fanya Five is extra special as we’ll be helping to send two students (Gaylord and Mercy) to university – having fully funded their entire secondary school experiences over the past 4 years. Teams are encouraged to learn about the lives of students, write them a letter, and/or make additional donations in support of their pursuit of education and community.
Gaylord’s secondary education has been fully sponsored by Fanya Further. He scored in a high tier on national secondary school exit exams and will be heading to university next! Learn more about his story here.

The “Ultimate” Sponsorship
A one-year secondary school scholarship costs $1,000 and provides for a student’s schooling, housing, food, transportation, medical care, counseling, visitations, and school materials in that year. The first year we ran this tournament, Fanya successfully raised funding to support two students’ scholarships. Those students – Gaylord and Mercy – will be going onto university next year!
Each year, Fanya grows by drawing together ultimate players to raise funds for these great students. We will continue sponsoring these students’ scholarships to cultivate a sustainable relationship with them as they move forward with their schooling. The more money we raise — the more students we can support! We will be taking donations and have plenty of additional information to share about the school, staff, and students.
